Chris Urson, who is working for Google’s
Self-Driving Car Project, is leader of engineering. He holds his opinion
clearly at the beginning of his article, which named Progress in Self-driving
Vehicles, that he believe self-driving vehicles will bring a lot of benefit in
the future, such as safety, less traffic and less car accident. But in fact, I
still cannot trust the self-driving vehicle now, and I believe those kind of
cars cannot be driven on the real road at least ten years.
Firstly, I believe most of you cannot let
electrical machine control your life, me neither. Google cars are based on the
real-time traffic status linking with Google Map. If something wrong with
Google, is that means we cannot go outside? If someday self-driving cars take
our driving abilities away, it will make me feel dangerous.
What’s more, I always believe that human brain
is the most powerful thing in the world, and it can deal some complex
situations that you meet on the road. So that’s why I don’t believe it will
decrease the traffic jam. Let’s move on to the car accident. Google car will
always follow the rule that human have set, it is more safety than driving by
ourselves if the traffic are always as they expect. Unfortunately, traffic
situations mostly are not as simple as they think. As an computer engineer, I
know that there are not perfect codes for programs. We can let them exist in
our computer because it’s not a big deal, but it is a big deal if some bugs will
threaten our life.
To sum up, I hold a negative view for
Google’s self-driving car appears in our real life, and I won’t let my family
drive this at all.
The structure of your passage is good. And I agree with your idea, Thanks for sharing.
