Apparently, smartphone is one of the most important indivisible part of contemporaneity people's life. i have used smartphone for ten years. I check e-mail, get the information of the weather and find the place on the Google Map. I cannot imagine that the daily life without smartphone. Indeed a recent study by the research group Flurry found that mobile consumers now spend an average of 2 hours and 57 minutes each day on mobile devices. How many times I unlock the phone, slide the pages left and right and lock the phone, but fotgot to see the time. Do no tell me only I have this situation. Playing game and searching online are the way for me to kill time. So 5-6 hours are cost on my smartphone per day. The problem is coming out. More and more apps for chatting such as wechat, QQ and Imessages are exploited. The make the chatting easily. But at the same time, the poeple who rely on the smartphone excesively are lacking communication face to face, which can never be instead by electromagnetic waves. We lost the soul intercourse. That is a sorrowful for human. It is because that the machine cannot represent you totaly. So talk to your friends with a smile.

I got my first smartphone in mid-August 2011, when the first time I came to Beijing and lived on campus. It’s a lonely time for me, without families and old friends around, because the high price of the long-distance call kept them away, and the computer-based chat software was not so convenient.

Then a new device came to my life, changing the way I live. I still remember the first time I touched the beautiful screen of this new phone. It’s such a fantastic moment for me to discover a new world, with only a little box in my hand and its multiple incredible functions. So many APPs can be installed and used in this magic device, including SNS (Social Network Service), games, study tools, and so on. From then on, with all my curiosity and enthusiasm of the future, my smartphone became a friend in pocket, a buddy in life.

I used it to remind the date, to upload my state, to search a name, to play a game. For sharing feelings, reading news, buying cargos, and checking notes, I spent at least 3 hours per day on my smartphone. Whenever I was bored, I reached for it immediately, reflexively, regularly.  Although I missed many deadlines because of the short-lasting power source of my smartphone and the addiction of the schedule reminding APP, I still love my friend in pocket, because they are the way I live.

I think more and more people will influenced by the using of smartphones. Just like me, they will use it not only to kill time, but also to improve lives. Additionally, the smartphone brings more updated information, which can inspire more people to create new ideas, so actually the smartphone will help, instead of harm, the innovation of the society.

Has your phone caused problems for you?

I do have a smartphone, and I admit that I addict to my smartphone. I have to say that smartphone is very useful for my study and life. I can communicate with my families and friends by FaceTime, and there are many useful apps that really make our life easier. But it also causes several problems.

First of all, I always spend too much time on my smartphone. Sometimes I just want to check my email or response a message. When I finish those things, I start to read news or play phone games chronically. In this way, I waste a lot of time. In addition, it might also make me forget things that I should do in that time, as I am too concentrate on my smartphone.

What’s more, when we addict to smartphone, our brain doesn’t get enough rest as it still working. So that we can feel tired easily, but we do nothing meaningful. If we take the time to have a good rest instead, it can make our further work more efficiently. And just as the passage said that we could be more creative when we are bored. So it is really important to bring back boredom.

So I think it is important for me to limit the time that I spend on my smartphone.

No invention has received more praise and abuse than smartphone. Some people said it is the best invention in the modern society. But the opinion is now being questioned by more and more people. Many smartphone owners slide their phones everyday many times and do nothing with it. Even they unlock their phone, they just play games or browse some fast-news online. And a part of my friends who are crazy about smartphone because that they are keen on keeping touch with other people. They said that they can’t leave out with their phones even just an hour. For me, I’m not very keen on my phone, and sometimes I fell very boring with my phone, even though I hold it in my hands, but I still don’t know what I can do through it. Sending messages to my friends? Or playing some popular games?
Yes, that’s why people put forward the opinion that smartphone is so boring.

So, in some aspects, a smart phone is boring, but even if we leave out with it, our life will not be meaning than now. And it is obvious that if we don’t own a smartphone, our life will become pretty inconvenient.

When I was a middle school student, I did not know what a smartphone is. But now, I can use smartphone do many thing such as read books, take photos, and even pay my bill. As far as I am concerned, smartphone is a tool that can help me simplify my life style. I use different apps to achieve my needs. For example I use Wechat to communicate with my friends, or search cookbook online by Google Chrome, are not buy some real cook books. However, smartphone also made some trouble for me. Smartphone based on some advanced operating system that they can permit different apps installed on the smartphone. Sometimes, the system is not very friendly with some apps such as although I set silent mode, some apps still have tweeting when I was sleeping. Usually, I use my phone 2 or 3 hours each day. And when I fell bored, I will reach for my phone. I think smartphone changed the world in last few years. On the one hand, before we have these smartphone, the function of cellphone is limited that just include call, message, and some others basic function. Nowadays, smartphone integrate a lot of function such as books, video, television and GPS. In the other hand, smartphone have been changed our social relationship. People are conditioned to still home use their smartphone to check social media apps, rather than have a walking trip with their family at a sunny day. Smartphone help people close with stranger, but we need to know the real social relationship is very important for us.

Using smartphones, as to me, is pretty useful and necessary, especially in this highly advancing society. Although I have not downloaded any games on my phone, I still use many Apps, such as dictionaries, Google Maps, and chatting apps. In the past, as students, we may have to pack a dictionary in our bags, or travelling in another city, it is supposed to have a city map on hand, but now Apps can pack them into your smartphones. Isn't is convenient? If I am reading an English book, I may use my phone frequently to look up words that are new to me. Because we are studying abroad, we cherish those chatting Apps that allow us chat with our families almost without time delay. I cannot give an exact number of how many hours I spend on my phone, but it might be 3/4 hours every day. As I said above, smartphones make our life convenient. If there are people addicted to them, it is the owners who are not able to manage their own life to blame, not smartphones.

If we can say that cell phones have changed people’s connection in society, smart phones have changed the life style in some aspects. Smart phones now become more and mare intelligent, and they can even replace the laptops as mobile terminals. It means that smart phones cannot only achieve some computer functions, but also can they be friendlier in UI (User Interface). I usually use my smart phone in connecting with other people, browsing some interesting news, listening some music or doing some purchase. Of course, there are still millions of apps that can achieve kinds of functions I haven’t used. But if we use them more frequently, electricity power will consume faster. Battery useful life becomes a big problem, which limit the customers’ usage. However, spending too much time in smart phones is not a good choice in our daily life. It brings some physical or mental discomfortableness and even dereism. For example, most people would feel their phones in ringing or shaking without any new messages or calls, so would I. I have to check my phone hundreds of time in one day, so it really confuses me very much. But comparing to missing some important messages or calls, it can be accepted.
