Journal 1 by Zhaoyang

Using smartphones, as to me, is pretty useful and necessary, especially in this highly advancing society. Although I have not downloaded any games on my phone, I still use many Apps, such as dictionaries, Google Maps, and chatting apps. In the past, as students, we may have to pack a dictionary in our bags, or travelling in another city, it is supposed to have a city map on hand, but now Apps can pack them into your smartphones. Isn't is convenient? If I am reading an English book, I may use my phone frequently to look up words that are new to me. Because we are studying abroad, we cherish those chatting Apps that allow us chat with our families almost without time delay. I cannot give an exact number of how many hours I spend on my phone, but it might be 3/4 hours every day. As I said above, smartphones make our life convenient. If there are people addicted to them, it is the owners who are not able to manage their own life to blame, not smartphones.

  1. You said you tend to use your smartphone while studying abroad because there is a greater need. Do you use your smartphone for about the same amount of time when you are home, does it change in importance/frequency, or do the kinds of things you use it for change?

  2. It seems that you make good use of your smartphone instead of using it to kill time. I also like using the convenient apps in my phone, such as dictionary and map. What's more, I like reading news and stories with my phone as well.I recommend that you can install those apps reading something fun

  3. Three quarters of an hour is such an amazing short time for me to use my smartphone, so I have to doubt your numbers. If you use your cellphone to chat with your families and friends, as your said in the article, almost one hour will be cost per day to keep in touch with them. Adding your toilet spare time for smartphone amusement to the account, I think one or maybe two hours per day is your right numbers. By the way, I agree about your attitude to the smartphone. We do need more useful functions in the phone, instead of too many games.

  4. I'm surprised that you just spend such a little time on your smartphone. I think the reason might be that you don't use it to kill time. I think one of the function of the smartphone is entertainment. You can also use your phone to do many things to kill time. But I really agree with your opinion that we should learn to manage our time. In addition, I think it is more important to try to control yourself, because I always have plans, but the smartphone let me forget them.

Loafer promote the progress of the world. The design of smartphone is just for making the life comfortable. Every grateful inventions are designed for lazying. We cannot attribute to human.
