Has your phone caused problems for you?
I do have a smartphone, and I admit that I addict to my
smartphone. I have to say that smartphone is very useful for my study and life.
I can communicate with my families and friends by FaceTime, and there are many useful
apps that really make our life easier. But it also causes several problems.
First of all, I always spend too much time on my smartphone.
Sometimes I just want to check my email or response a message. When I finish
those things, I start to read news or play phone games chronically. In this
way, I waste a lot of time. In addition, it might also make me forget things
that I should do in that time, as I am too concentrate on my smartphone.
What’s more, when we addict to smartphone, our brain doesn’t
get enough rest as it still working. So that we can feel tired easily, but we
do nothing meaningful. If we take the time to have a good rest instead, it can
make our further work more efficiently. And just as the passage said that we could
be more creative when we are bored. So it is really important to bring back
boredom.
So I think it is important for me to limit the time that I
spend on my smartphone.
How much time do you think is a good amount to be on your smartphone? Do you think it varies from person to person and situation to situation?
ReplyDeleteJust like you, so many people in current society cannot leave their smartphone, no matter to do the meaningful things or just the wast of time. However, is this problem caused by the advanced functions in the smartphone? I mean that the company and excellent engineers design the terrific smartphone and useful apps which make our life more convenient and wonderful. The time waste is caused by our less self-discipline but the fault of advanced smartphone. Maybe, what we should to is to do more considerations to control ourselves, but to blame the smartphone.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, Liyuan. Companies spend so much energy in making our lives more convenient by these devices, yet as a society, we're always complaining about how this so-called convenience costs us in our relationships with others and in our productivity.
ReplyDeleteI have no reason to disagree with you. The situation what you related is occurring to me. The problems of using smartphone have influenced our life profoundly. It is just like a phenomenon which people addict to the drugs. We often play with smartphone unconsciously. That makes us feeling guilt about wasting time. The guild leads us bored. And the best way what we believed to get rid of bored is fiddling with the smartphone. Than the vicious circle is formed. We should break this circle and return to real life.
