Currently, the
smartphone is an indispensable part of our daily life, and there is a certain
evidence provided by the research group Flurry that mobile consumers now spend
an average 2 hours and 57 minutes each day on the mobile devices. Indeed, the
smartphone is not the only one containing in the mobile devices, but the
significant one. As the Zomorodi using an app named Moment that counts how
often you unlock your devices and the minutes you spend using it says she
average 50-100 phone check-ins per day, we use the smartphone to do a number of
things, such as calling, email-checking, texting, reading, playing games, etc.
This is the smartphone’s influence in our daily life, meanwhile some important
effects on the whole society cannot be ignored as well. First, the commonest
one is the speed of information or news. For instance, were some big events like
earthquake or sport games happening in wherever in the world, we would easily know
everything we want using the smartphone to surfing on the internet. Second, the
environment-friendly is also a big deal to the whole society. With the growth
of population, the requirements of natural resources increase rapidly. Using
the smartphone to finish most of the reading and desk works instead of using
paper can preserve and protect the forest and some other recycle resources. Although
there are some pollutions caused by the producing and disposing the smartphone,
had we not used the smartphone to do such of works, the mobile devices would
still be produced and used, which means there is no reduction of any
pollutions. So paperless office is better way to the environment. These are
just my thought of the smartphone’s effects to the whole society, not very
comprehensive, and I am pleasure to receive some suggestion and advice of my
idea.
Thanks

I think you have a point, Lyric. There are insurmountable benefits to the smartphone--namely, it keeps us connected to the world around us in very important ways. In addition, they tend to be much more convenient and faster than previous methods of communication (tv, radio, computer, etc.).
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think, though, about the issue of boredom? If we have other ways to get in contact with the outside world and know what's going on apart from having a smartphone, would it be beneficial to try to engage in this challenge so as to engender more creativity as an individual?
I agree with you. Indeed, Smartphone help human save paper and protect the forest. But there are problem that paperless office will make people use eyes overtime. I hope that with the development of technology and medicine, human can create new product, more health and more safety.
