In Jon Gertner's article "True Innovation," He introduces a successful company: Bell Labs. He lists some achievements from Bell Labs, and many famous companies is based on the research of Bell Labs. This article also discusses that how Mr. Kelly managed this company, and he believed creativity of people.
I agree that Bell Lab works in a good way for business. Mr. Kelly believed that freedom was important in creativity. He gave more space for engineers and avoided them to help them coming up with plans. For me, I don't like too much pressure. For example, I don't like work under the professor's eyes, instead, I prefer doing my project in my dorm. Not only because I will feel less pressure in my room than in the professor's lab, but also I have more flexible time in my room. Under a relaxation of my mind, I will become more creative and efficient. Furthermore, a relaxing situation in working will makes employees work for the boss willingly. Almost all employees don't like work with watching, no matter how bosses are kindness.
Many kinds of businesses would like this working style. Writer is a typical job, which can reflects that the space for workers is necessary. As we know, most writers like working in their own space. If the bosses urge them every day, they will loss their patiences, which will infect their writing efficiency. As same as writer, I believe all jobs, which need creativity, are better working without too much pressure. However, like students, some jobs really need some pressure. I'm not sure that students can handle knowledge better without any tests than under the repetition and translation.
To sum up, the way that give more own space for employees is suitable for creative job, but some positions also need appropriate pressures.

You not only give the good example of writer is a kind of job which also needs freedom, but also share your own working habits. So I think you have done a convincing job.
